Melbourne peoples should go to this. Went to the Sydney concert last night, and was terribly upset when I got there and saw that Mos Def was the opening act and I'd missed more than half of his set (they usually put a shitty local support on first!). What I did get to see of Mos was awesome, and Shadow was spectacular, with a really amazing visual setup.
Back at uni now after three weeks off, got a pass average for last semester, comprising of:
Science - 69.0 - Credit (didn't hand one assessment in, and another was a coupla days late)
Teaching - 59.0 - Pass (handed in major essay five days late, 25% penalty. Group presentation mark was destroyed by one member who simply read a list of quotes from the course reader)
Literacy - 72.0 - Credit
Religion - 0.0 - Absent Fail (never made it to tutes 'cause of work the night before)
So, I'm on 200/400 so far. Ouch. I'm going to speak to the course coordinator for anthropology to see if I can change to that from religion and do a make-up exam and/or essay to get marks for the first semester unit. I chose religion 'cause of my interest in cultural diversity but the other students in the unit are really fucking boring and hardly make me want to show up to classes.

Yer, I really want to do the senior units for religion (religion in film/media, religion in politics, religion & nation states) but I don't think I'll pass any of the junior units 'cause they're crap. Just moved over to anthropology using the online thing now, I've got friends in anth so that'll make it easier to pass 'cause I'll have a bit more motivation.
It just sucks that I've resorted to choosing a unit based on my ability to pass instead of sticking with the unit that I have a much greater interest in. Don't get me wrong, I love anthropology, I just think religion is more my thing (despite being a totally non-religious person).
Oh, and yes, I'm working nights. Last semester I was at school from 8:45am-3:30pm then work until 11:30pm. No prac this semester so it'll be a bit easier.

If you think you're having a hard time getting in all the assignments etc, perhaps you should do 3 subjects per semester, and also subjects over the summer? There is a big difference between doing 3 or 4, and 4 or 5 subjects.

Naw, a condition of my degree is that I do four units.
