I was listening to News Radio today and they were interviewing some guy (I think an auditor) who was sent to look into what it is exactly the Department of Defence was doing (re major incomeptence). He said something along the lines of 'this government has totally fucked up all the departments, it's not only the dept of def that has major problems'. It's a lot of incompetence, a lot of really stupid and really comfortable public servants and dodgy contracts. I love how the idiot who dealt with the family thought he could absolve his dept of all responsibility by saying 'OH BUT HE (the father of the kid) SPOKE ENGLISH' when it was quite clear that he didn't. Absolutely pathetic. I can't wait to see Vanstone's head on a plate.

Also, you should read Mick Palmer's report on the Cornelia Rau and Vivian Solon fiasco, even though it's not as brutal as it should be it gives you an idea of the kind of morons people have to deal with if they want to immigrate to Australia. It is virtually impossible to get fired from the public service, even if you're a total fuckwit.
