Ok so I probably shouldn't have considering I have a cold, but I walked home in the rain. It was really nice, it was fairly gentle with occasional bursts of heavy rain. I spent about half the time facing the sky while the water splashed down over me. Absolutely fucken loved it. I had to be careful though because I had some groceries with me and I had my work bag which contained my notebook, some work docs and a contract I'm reviewing - not to mention my discman & cds! Lucky ducky my bag was drenched on the outside but the water didn't get through. Thanks hugo!

It took ages to get through the work I was doing today... I got into work just after lunch, around 1:30pm, and didn't walk out of the building until 10:50pm. I'm pretty rusty with my html but it's coming back bit by bit, the most time consuming aspect of the work is the image work, lots of optimising & scaling and fucking around to fit the images under a certain size limit to maintain load times etc... it doesn't help that I have to work in a test directory on one of our servers then copy everything onto a test server which is a mirror of our website on a different box then if all is good I have to come back to my end, backup existing live files with date & time inserted into the filename then copy my work from the test directory to the live directory followed by an upload to the live website... argh! So laborious, I'll have to sit down with the d00d who used to do the web work to find out what processes he used (if any) to make it less tedious. I also had to shoot out a few of "You're in the shit for fucking up" emails, which I always enjoy writing but never enjoy dealing with when the people respond, mainly because they always respond "what'd I do wrong" to which you have to re-hash your original email and point out policies & procedures that they're all supposed to know and that you've drilled into them for the last six months...
